BIOGRAPHY

JOYCE MEADOWS began her debut on stage at the age of 4, singing "This Little Light of Mine.' A farm girl in Canada, performing was a way of life with family and relatives participating on the " back porch."

She saw her first movie at the age of 8, after moving to Montana. Eventually, realizing that performing could be a career, she started acting in theatre while in High School, playing "Juliet" in ROMEO AND JULIET at the Little Eaglet Theatre in Sacramento, CA.

Joyce was recognized by an agent who encouraged her to continue her acting career. Moving to Los Angeles while still a teenager, she started working in television, playing guest roles in over 200 TV Shows. She studied with the famous Jeff Corey, got a scholarship to study at the Pasadena Playhouse, and studied on and off with Mira Rostova in New York. She also was a student of Stella Adler's. It would be disingenuous to say that Joyce went from Science Fiction to Shakespeare; however, one of her most famous films was one of her first, a cult classic, THE BRAIN FROM PLANET AROUS. She had the female lead in what the Sci Fi aficionados consider on of the best films in its genre at the time.

Joyce has been directed by the Broadway star Tony Tanner in such classics as: "Gertrude" in HAMLET, "Pilamente" in Moliere's LEARNED LADIES, and recently as "Belise" in an adaptaton by Mr. Tanner, of Moliere's LEARNED LADIES, the "Nurse" in MEDIA, "Goneril" in KING LEAR,"Clytemnestra" in SCENARIO FOR ORESTIA, "Paulina in THE WINTER'S TALE. Other famous roles: "Amanda" in GLASS MENAGERIE at the UCLA Performance Group, "Nurse" in 'TIS PITY SHE'S A WHORE, "Wife" in Moliere's SCANARELLE, "Queen Margaret" in RICHARD THE THIRD, "Helena" in MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, "Nettie" in THE SUBJECT WAS ROSES, "Clytemnestra" in ELECTRA, "Lissie" in the RAINMAKER, "Lady Capulet" in ROMEO & JULIET-CBS Studio Production (to list a few); and now: WILL WILL FULFILL, SHAKESPEARE'S SONNETS IN PERFORMANCE with JOYCE MEADOWS.
